Krillin was awaken all too early when the water in the vita-tank began to drain. His eyes shot open bewildered as hew tried to take in his surroundings. All at once it came back to him, everything that he had done since he was kidnapped on Earth. He had no idea where he was and he had no idea how long had been gone. A small smile crept on to his face when he realized that Master Roshi had never gotten his magazines.
“Come on human, your next fight is coming up,” said the same alien that had been escorting him around the strange building.
Krillin was dropped out of the vita-tank rather forcefully. He landed on his hands and knees. When he stood up he felt as good as new, as he looked at his body he realized that all of his wounds from his battle with the large red alien had healed. “Hey, how long have I been here?” Krillin said as he began to stretch his muscles.
“You’ve been here for 2 Earth days, I must say the doctors and our elites are very impressed with you. The other people who have been tested haven’t even been able to get past the first round, they weren’t very exciting. Today’s fight is almost twice as strong as your opponent from yesterday.” The alien began to walk away and Krillin hesitantly followed.
‘Today’s guy is even stronger?’ Krillin thought as a single bead of sweat rolled down Krillin’s forehead. ‘Well I should be in one heck of a fight. Should be fun.’ Krillin put his hands behind his head as he walked casually behind his escort.
Krillin entered the same room he had yesterday. The room was still in its all white state and Krillin knew what was coming. His door disappeared and another appeared on the other side of the room. The doctor walked in and performed the check-up in silence. “He’s good!” He yelled out to seemingly no one before giving Krillin a thumb’s-up and walking back out of his door, which promptly disappeared.
As soon the door disappeared the room began to change. This time Krillin was on a beach, he could hear the crashing of the waves and to his right was a large cliff overlooking the ocean. Krillin took in his surroundings thinking of possible strategies that he could implement against his upcoming opponent.
The door reappeared and Krillin got into his fighting stance of choice. Images of possible creatures he could be fighting flew through his head and became slightly terrified at the thought of it. Gulping Krillin prepared for his fight, when the door open Krillin tensed and then was shocked when he saw…himself.
An exact copy of Krillin down to the orange Gi that he normally wore was staring right back at him. The Pseudo Krillin smiled at his clone and went into Krillin’s preferred fighting stance.
They both stood there waiting for the other one to make the first move. Suddenly they both launched at each other. In a flurry of punches and kick they matched each other blow for blow a small explosion with each collision. Both Krillin’s jumped backward and looked at each other wearily. “Just who are you exactly?” Both Krillins said in synchronization.
“I’m Krillin.”
“No I’m Krillin.”
“Shut up!” After this bout of synchronized talking both Krillins launched at each other again. They attacked more ferociously than ever before. The sounds of the battle roared over the sounds of the ocean. After another couple of minutes both Krillins jumped away from each other again.
‘He’s doing everything I’m doing how am I supposed to win this?’ he thought to himself. Both Krillin’s were breathing heavily as they stared at each other warily. ‘Wait, of course, I just won’t fight as me.’ Krillin hopped into a new stance, the one generally used by Tien.
The Pseudo Krillin looked at Krillin strangely and hopped into his usual stance. When they launched at each other again Krillin easily had the upper hand. The pseudo Krillin had never seen this stance before and was quickly becoming overwhelmed. After a minute though the Pseudo Krillin had become accustomed to the new fighting style and were once again on an equal playing field.
Krillin was quickly put on the defensive when the unexpected happened. The Pseudo Krillin masterfully blended the two fighting styles into a very interesting one. When the turtle and the crane styles combined in meant very powerful, fluid movements and Krillin wasn’t ready for it.
Krillin was in for a pummeling as he tried to fight off the unique style. Krillin fought back as best as he could but when he jumped back it looked as though Krillin was losing the fight. His left eye was swollen and his nose seemed to be broken and he had a few cracked ribs. ‘Crap now what?’ The Pseudo Krillin got into another fighting stance, the crane style stance, and was prepared to jump back into the fight.
‘Wait a minute, if this guy is a clone of me, maybe he can’t fly’ Krillin looked up towards the cliff, ‘This just might work.’ Krillin began to run as fast as he could so he could run around the cliff. The Pseudo Krillin quickly began to follow Krillin and was slowly catching up to him.
After a minute Krillin turned around and focus kicked the pseudo Krillin in the face knocking the pseudo Krillin backwards giving Krillin more time to run away. When Krillin had gotten to the top of the cliff the Pseudo Krillin was right behind him. Krillin smiled when he only had one more thing he needed to do and that was kick Pseudo Krillin off the cliff.
The battle was on once again and it was mostly even. They were going punch for punch each of them landing a few good hits on each other. Eventually Krillin realized he was less than a step away from falling off the cliff. He looked towards Pseudo Krillin who was attempting to delivering a kick to Krillins chest to send him flying backwards off the cliff.
Krillin barely managed to jump over the kick and land on the opposite side of the Pseudo Krillin. Krillin turned around and launched a flurry of attacks towards the surprised fake. Krillin delivered one final focus kick and the duplicate was launched off the cliff side. Krillin looked down in victory as his opponent fell to the ground.
This was short lived however when the Pseudo Krillin managed to catch himself just before he hit the ground, in mid-air. The Pseudo Krillin began to slowly fly back up and Krillin backed up, shocked at what he just witnessed.
“What’s the matter Krillin; can’t fly? Thought you were going to kill me, I’m afraid you’ll find I’m much harder to kill than that.” The Pseudo Krillin landed in front of Krillin with an evil gleam in his eye.
Krillin looked back at his double dumbfounded. ‘How can I kill him? There has to be something I can do!’ While lost in his thoughts the duplicate launched towards Krillin and kneed him in the stomach knocking the wind out of him.
As Krillin lay on the ground, writhing in pain, the idea came to him. He knew it would most likely be suicidal but it was the only chance he had. Desperate, Krillin launched himself at his doppelganger and tackled him off of the cliff. They were both falling very fast and Krillin knew the end was near. But at least he would be able to relish in the fact that he at least defeated his opponent even if it was only seconds before Krillin died himself.
As they plummeted to Earth Krillin continued his assault on the fake. Punching him several times in the face on the way down leaving a trail of blood following the two once the fakes nose was broken. After what seemed like an eternity the two finally hit the ground and surprisingly, besides a few more broken ribs, (all but like 2 are broken by this point), Krillin was ok. He rolled off of his doppelganger and observed the body.
The Pseudo Krillin’s skull was bashed open completely covering the beach in blood and brains. The Pseudo Krillin still possessed an evil smile on his face, even in death it was never washed. The ocean crashed against the beach and began to wash away the blood and after a moment the body was washed away as well leaving the beach clean save for the young monk who lay on the sand panting.
He couldn’t even attempt to move, his muscles simply wouldn’t allow it. He was beyond exhausted, as he lay there he wondered how much more he would have to do in order to get out of this hell hole the aliens had trapped him in. That had been without a doubt the hardest battle Krillin had ever fought.
As he lay there he began to think of all the battles he had fought. Most of them he had won handily being that he had fought regular human beings. This was the forced time he had ever had his abilities pushed so far. He didn’t know if he was going to be able to keep this up for who knows how long.
When one of the aliens came to get him Krillin still refused to move, he was stuck where he was literally. After several failed attempts the alien left muttering to himself. ‘They’ll come back to get me, if they still want me to be their guinea pig they still need me to fight which mean they are going to have to heal me again.’ Krillin closed his eyes and began drifting to sleep, he was comfortable as he lay on the warm sand of the beach.
Suddenly his eyes shot awake when a thought came into his mind. The doctor was able to talk to whoever was in charge. Whoever Krillin is “entertaining” they are in the building, in fact they are probably in this very room. Krillin struggled to stand up and even when he did so he favored his right side. “What do you want from me?!?” Krillin yelled out into the air. “Why did you bring me here? I have already taken down two of your fighters how many more do I have to defeat before you let me go?”
A low booming voice rang out through out the room. The voice sound omni-present so there was no distinguishing source. “You will leave when I say you can.”
“Who are you?!?” Krillin yelled out still desperately wanting some answers.
“That’s simple, I’m your worst nightmare.” The voice said eerily before it faded away again.
With that Krillin promptly fell backwards, unconscious in an instant. He had the beginnings of a dream it seemed strangely familiar but he was unable to place it. When he woke up his escort was standing above him again and the pain in his side told him that he had just been kicked.
“Come on now kid it’s time for you to go. Get up and walk with me, the sooner you get into the Vita-Tank the sooner you’ll heal.” The alien said nonchalantly.
“Yeah…yeah I hear you.” Krillin struggled as he stood up. He was forced to drag his left foot behind him while he grasped his chest as he followed the alien back to the room with the vita-tanks.
‘What was that dream about? I really wish I could remember, it seemed so familiar like I had actually done it.’ By the time Krillin had gotten to the vita-tank room he was ready to pass out. He was put into the vita-chamber where he promptly began to rest as it filled with a strange liquid.
‘I know that if I try hard enough I can remember my dream, it is really bugging me.’ Krillin’s mind began to wander as he lay in the vita-tank trying to fall asleep so that he would be ready for the next day’s battles.
‘What does that guy want with me? Surely I’m not the strongest person on Earth, I still have so much training I have to do. Maybe they want to get to someone stronger than me and are just using me as a warm up. Or maybe people are betting on fights and I’m acting a sort of gladiator for an alien race. No, no that can’t be it. The aliens have told me they wanted me for testing. Well I guess the testing could just be a code word. Also how is it that everyone I come across can speak English even if they come from a different planet or universe.’ Krillin chuckled inwardly at the way his mind worked when he was completely relaxed.
‘You know what I just realized.’ Krillin asked himself. ‘If I were to die right here only Master Roshi would notice. I really need to get a girlfriend’ he said to himself inwardly. With that thought Krillin fell asleep.
She was beautiful to him. He had never met anyone that made his heart flutter as much as she did.
She was a wonderful person. Taller than Krillin, because that was hard to do, and as beautiful as anyone could be. But this wasn’t even her most outstanding feature. She also had a beautiful personality. She had a great sense of humor, she was caring, compassionate, lovable, stubborn, and adorable all rolled into one neat package. Even besides that it wasn’t as though Krillin didn’t have something to look at.
Her long blonde hair flowed freely in the wind. Her smile, bright enough to lighten a hundred cities, and her eyes… yes her eyes, every time he thought of her eyes he couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed with joy.
