Finally, after a few days of training and associating himself properly with Earth’s gravity, Slug had harnessed the ability of flight. Cruising over the lush green landscapes of Earth’s environment, he casually soared looking for a decent spot to post up for training. Landing down near a small pond Slug approached for a sip of water as he surveyed the area. “This is as good a spot as any…” he thought to himself as he lowered his belongings in preparation of training. Slug stripped off his cloak, shoe and shirt, tossing them to the side. Slug dove into the pond to test the depth of the water. Realizing it was very shallow, he swam back to the edge of the water and pondered his next move. Then, Slug heard the startling sound of gun shots in the distance. Intrigued by the noise Slug left his belongings as he levitated and headed off into the direction of the disturbance.
Not long after, Slug came upon the situation as a group of hunters were surrounding their latest kill. The group was celebrating around an extremely large boar-like beast which was bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds. Surveying the lay of the land, Slug counted 12 hunters celebrating around their kill with no auxiliary support in the area. “It took twelve of them with guns to take down that thing? Heh…” Slug smirked as he boosted off in the other direction. He knew they would be their celebrating and preparing their prey for awhile and he had some time before they would be moving from that location. Stopping to hover above the tree line, Slug listened closely to hear clues of any large animals in the region.
A faint growl-like roar could be heard off in the distance and Slug didn’t hesitate to head in that direction. Pulling up to a small clearing he witnessed a huge boar appearing to be at least two or three times the size of the hunters’ kill he saw earlier. The boar was busy feeding on a meal it had found and paid no attention to Slug’s presence. Looking around for a weapon Slug eyed a large boulder not far from his position. Landing down, Slug approached the boulder and realized it had one end that was particularly angled in a way that almost gave it spear point. Slug grabbed the boulder with the spear-like end pointed away from him. He flew up into the air with the boulder and headed for the feasting boar. Slug sized up the shot, reared back and launched the boulder with a powerful toss that shot true hitting it’s intended target. The boulder crashed into the boar’s head, erupting with blood as it crashed the head into the ground carrying the rest of the beast’s body with it. Slug grabbed the boar and hung it over his shoulder as he boosted up into the air. Flying high up into the air, Slug associated himself with the lay of the land and headed back in the direction of the twelve hunters.
Slug approached the circle of hunters, counting all twelve of them and realized they hadn’t moved an inch since he left. Hovering high above them, carrying the boar a few hundred feet above the hunters he prepared to drop the boar upon the unsuspecting crew. Only Slug decided to spice things up a bit, as he laughed cockily over his plan. Tossing the boar above him, he sized it up and used his flight to suspend himself in air doing a strong bicycle kick into the boar as it passed by to send it careening towards the hunters.
The dead boar came crashing down with violent force and crashed into the earth, crushing four of the hunters under its extreme weight and girth. The celebration had turned to full on horror as the remaining eight hunters were shocked with what had happened. The men were looking around at each other, then at the huge dead boar that was half splattered all over their now deceased friends. Next, they looked to the air, all scanning with their eyes to see if there were any clues to what had just happened. Slug had darted into the nearby woods after kicking the boar and was snickering as he tried to hold his laughter to himself. He overheard the shrieks of horror and the terroristic threats made by the remaining hunters; “WHAT THE F**K?!?!?! Who did this?! What the hell is going on!!!?” Slug made his next move and began throwing splitter balls into the direction of the men with no real accuracy. The balls of ki slammed into the surrounding area and the hunters began to freak out even more. Shrieking things like, “HOLY F**CKING SH*T!! IT’S GOD!! IT’S THE DEVIL!!! WHAT THE F**CK!!?” A few of the energy balls hit the hunters which angered them to the point where they grabbed their guns and began firing into the direction of the source of mysterious energy balls assaulting them. The shots rang out, yet the bullets flew without purpose as Slug had already taken the initiative to move to another spot. As the hysterical hunters were unloading their clips into the woods where magic energy balls had been flying from, Slug was on the move eying and opportunity to harass them further.
Spying on them from the flanking side, Slug pondered what move to make next. Silently he crept up slowly behind the gun crazy fools. Letting loose a deadly assault, Slug grabbed his first two victims and crushed their skulls together with one of his favorite ‘two birds with one stone’ moves. The others began to notice but Slug had already begun his chain of attack. Immediately grabbing the gun out of the next victim, Slug clotheslined him into the ground and pounced for his next victim. Five more remained when Slug sent multiple eye beams ripping through the air that pierced into the face of two more hunters sending them to the ground doubled over in pain. Another hunter close to Slug aimed his gun, fired, and missed. He was shaking so bad with fear that his aim treacherous and his gun was all but rendered completely useless. Slug sent a kick into the man’s gut so hard that it sent Slug’s opponent flying back into a tree splintering it in half. One hunter with an empty clip had started fleeing across the field. Slug looked around not realizing where the other one had gone. He let it go for a moment as he threw a few splitter balls at the fleeing hunter. Slug chuckled as they landed around him and eventually brought the victim to his knees, falling to the ground in a crispy bloodied heap.
Slug was chuckling while he watched his victim suffering, but his humor was cut short when he heard the clicking of a loaded gun. Slug’s eyes turned as he heard the final hunter speaking…
“You forgot one. Turn around! Hands up and don’t make any sudden moves!!” Slug turned slowly, hands to his side. The hunter reacted bluntly, “Holy, holy… You’re the green guy on the news!”
Slug smirked, shrugging his shoulders and replied, “Well. What are you going to do with me? I already showed you I am a better hunter then you. I’m not the ‘green-one’ you seek, I’ve taken some lives but none I didn’t have to if they hadn’t blamed me for those crimes I didn’t do. Well, that is until now.”
The hunter looked perplexed as he stepped closer wielding his shotgun. “What do you mean until now? You f**king filthy swine.”
Slug cracked a smile, spit to the ground and replied smartly, “Your hunter companions here, heh. I didn’t have to kill them to get away from persecution.”
The hunter looked enraged and replied, “Then why the f**k did you do it?! Answer me you f*cking alien bitch! I’ll splatter you’re gad damn alien brains all over the place! Why?!”
Slug stood motionless, pretending to search his thoughts. “I wanted you to know what it felt like to be hunted.”
The hunter looked confused and angry as he grew more impatient and shook his gun more violently as he responded, “What? What do you mean?”
Slug rebutted, “No, no. You’re right, heh. I just wanted to see you suffer!!!”
Instantly, Slug rushed the last remaining hunter who was attempting to hold him hostage with his shotgun. Slug had closed the distance between himself and his assailant before the gunman could pull his trigger. Slug’s left forearm was extended as a shield he put directly in front of the shotgun barrel as he reached with his right hand for the gunman’s neck. A loud explosion rang out as a shotgun blast rattled out of the barrel of the gun. The spray shot was limited as Slug’s forearm was directly in front of the gun, the bullets ripping through the bottom of his elbow completely detaching Slug’s left arm from the elbow down. At the same time Slug’s right hand had reached its target and his fingers wrapped firmly around the gunman’s neck. Slug held the gunman up who was shocked to see his opponent still standing after a shotgun had just ripped his arm off.
Slug was growling in pain, trying hard not to lose composure as he squeezed his grip tighter on the gunman’s neck who had just blown his arm off. Slug spoke, “Heh…Urghh… You think that can kill me?” Slug choked a bit and sputtered his words, “I’ll enjoy watching you suffer and die.” With that, Slug clenched his fist tight completely collapsing the hunter’s windpipe on itself, pinching it tight. Slug dropped the gunman who had let go of his gun to clench his neck. Gasping for air the man rolled around on the ground whimpering and kicking as he tried to suck in oxygen. His head began to turn different shades of blue and purple as his crushed neck simply couldn’t supply air to his lungs. Finally the man went limp via death by suffocation.
Slug picked up the shotgun with his right arm talking to the shotgun as if it were a person, “You blew off my arm… Piece of garbage.” Slamming the gun to the ground he stomped it repeatedly until it was destroyed.
Slug stepped into a ready stance and began to scream in pain in what looked like a motion to power up. Holding his elbow area with his right arm as the open wound where his left arm used to be dripped with blood. Slug was sweating profusely as he screamed louder in pain. With a loud burst his left arm regenerated itself perfectly into place. He breathed heavily as the regeneration technique had left his body exhausted of energy. Slug took his time coming to as he sat down on a downed log to catch his breath and gather his thoughts.
Slug began staggering through the woods as he could barely move after exerting all his energy reserves into regenerating his left forearm. The lack of energy made flight seem risky, yet finding his camp by the pond where he left his clothes and belongings would be harder to find on foot. Eventually Slug found a small river that he gathered a few drinks from and then followed downstream in hopes of finding his camp.
Before long, Slug had started to gather his bearings and was beginning to feel his energy slowly returning. Walking up slowly upon the pond area he soon realized there was someone snooping around his belongings. “Great, just what I need… more surprises, ugh,” Slug uttered as he began to creep up on the person investigating his clothes and belongings he had left by the pond hours ago.
The suspect looked like an average man of average height and stature. He was poking around the area but didn’t really look as though he had any intention of stealing anything. Slug noticed that the man also didn’t look to have any sort of official uniform or outfit that would lead him to believe he was the police or authorities. However, noting his encounter with the bounty hunters earlier he couldn’t discount the possibility. Slug continued to slowly walk up on the perpetrator, waiting to take action until he had gathered some more information on what was going on. The man turned his back on Slug’s direction and Slug quickly made his move. Rushing upon the man he grabbed him, holding his opponent in a headlock. He made sure to put a hand over the man’s eyes to ensure he couldn’t see his assailant. Squeezing the life out of the man he began to question him.
“What are you doing here?” Slug demanded as he clenched the man even tighter, threatening to kill him on the spot.
The man was nervous and replied, “One of the locals was reporting sights of some sort of frog man up in this area. I just came to check it out, I’m a bounty hunter and I thought maybe it had something to do with that guy who burned down that factory and murdered those people. You know there’s a big reward out there for him, dead or alive. I wasn’t going to steal from you, I swear!”
Slug held the headlock tighter, realizing that the bounty hunter hadn’t seen him yet and likely thought it was another human. Slug pulled the man’s head back and spoke into his ear, “Another one of you bounty hunters, eh? Low life scum. Give me one reason why I shouldn’t kill you right now.”
The bounty hunter shook, gasped for air and struggle with a reply, “No-,no. I, just. Can you let me go, please?! I can get you money, girls, drugs. Whatever you want man! Just let me go!!”
Slug kneed the bounty hunter in the back and shoved him forward releasing his chokehold grip. The man stumbled forward choking for air as Slug grabbed his arm and swung the man around. Standing face to face with the green alien he was seeking, the man’s eyes nearly bugged out of socket as he stared into the eyes of Slug. Slug smirked, reeled forward and landed a haymaker straight into the man’s nose. Immediately the bounty hunter’s nose exploded with blood as he clenched his face falling back on to his back. The man let out a crying yelp as he sat up, blood running down his nose. Slug pounced above him, putting one foot on the man’s upper chest to pin him down. “You should’ve never come here. You will all learn the hard way what it costs to hunt the ‘frog-man’.” He spit in the face of the bounty hunter and pushed his foot down with more force as the man squealed underneath his power.
Slug fell to his knees, pinning the man’s arms down and began punching him in the face. Vicious punch after punch landed squarely into the victim’s face. Slug’s fists slopped more blood with each punch as his bloodstained hands pummeled the life out of the bounty hunter. Enraged with anger, Slug continued punching the body of the man even after he had stopped resisting and long been dead. Coming to his senses, Slug wiped his face on his forearm and rose to his feet. He spat to the ground and casually walked over to the pond to clean himself off. Slug was toweling himself off with his cloak as he looked at his bloodied victim with disgust. Slug thought to himself “If this keeps up, the hunted shall be the hunters.” He smiled, nudged the dead body with his foot and decided to toss the dead bounty hunter’s body off into the woods. He gathered his things and walked off into the wilderness to find a better space of solitude to continue his training.
