“He’s Burter! Of the Ginyu force. Burter of the Ginyu, Ginyu force.”
Jeice woke up to the annoying alarm clock he hears every day. Try as he might he could never get his damn alarm to change from default to radio. He was thankful to have the alarm clock that Burter had given him but he was sick of hearing Burter attempting to sing as the alarm every morning. Rolling out of bed Jeice stretched. He made a mental note to buy himself a new alarm clock himself because every time his “broke” Burter was on hand to give him a new one.
“The Blue Bastard probably thinks he is the best singer in the world.”
So Jeice went into the training room to begin his daily routine of sit ups, pushups, and leg ups before settling in to working on his biceps, triceps, abs, deltoids, pecs, and trapezius. He wanted to look as strong as he felt. Everyone knew that the red skinned, white haired women of Space Australia loved their men looking as ripped as the infamous Darrel Mathis Troy. After the three hour morning training session of epic proportions Jeice decided to test his mental skills today. He went over to the gaming room where Recoome was busy playing Call of Duty 4. That’s all the ginger-haired freak ever did. Sit around and play Call of Duty while drinking orange soda and running around calling himself “The Josh.” Jeice knew Burter only kept him around because he told funny jokes and was fun to laugh at after a hard day’s work. After pulling his attention away from Recoome, Jeice set his eyes on the tiny Red machine in the corner of the room. Chuckling to himself, he walked over to the machine and sat down in the seat. A set of goggles lowered over his face and went across his face.
“Welcome Jeice. Please choose your scenario and level of difficulty.”
Jeice looked at the screen. He definitely wanted to do the best training he could but he also didn’t want to over-exert himself and tire himself for the rest of the day if he should have trouble completing his challenge.
“Fuck it. Let’s go for it.”
And with that Jeice chose the mental marathon on extreme. Jeice’s surroundings went black for a few moments before he was transformed into a park far away from any city. Or was he? It all seemed so real to him that he couldn’t be too sure. The green grass, the smell of the fresh air with just a hint of an upcoming thunderstorm, and the bright blue sky all seemed so very vivid to him as he looked up. Turning around Jeice saw movement and rolled to his side. An arrow flew by where his head had been not even three seconds ago. The sky started turning a crimson red and three hooded figures appeared to each side of Jeice with the figure who had just shot the arrow now standing ten feet away from him. The three figures to his left aimed their arrows towards Jeice while the three to his right aimed them in the air so he couldn’t use his flight ability to dodge. With a quick survey of his surroundings Jeice notice a small yet elongated rock on the ground slightly forward and to his left. Jeice made a move for the rock and all six figures that had bows drawn fired. Bending down and grabbing the rock Jeice was able to get it up just in time to deflect the arrows before sending a splitter ball in the direction of the first three who had shot directly at him.
The first hooded figure moved ever so slightly and shot a splitter ball of his own to stop Jeice’s ki move before it injured his fellow evil druids. Then with a slight chuckle he took his hood off and glared at Jeice. An ugly being with scars up and down his face, big sunken in red eyes that seemed as if they could steal your soul just by looking into them, a crooked, almost “L” shaped nose that seemed beyond repair, and a nearly bald head with just the slightest blondish Mohawk running from front to back on the upper corners of his head is what stared back at Jeice. And he was afraid. Not even Burter had ever reacted that fast to a move before and Jeice had been sure that Burter was the fastest being in existence.
“Now, now then friend please try to relax. While I can’t say I mean you no harm, for I very much do mean you quite a lot of harm, I do wish to introduce myself and be civilized before we carry out your execution. My name is Thánatos. What is your name kind sir? Ah, well then it actually doesn’t matter. Your name is of no matter to me for in a few short minutes you shall be nothing more than a forgotten memory, the next pawn in my plan, and the victim of your own greed, striving for perfection when there is no such thing. Other then myself of course for I am perfect. Oh but I do feel like I am just talking and talking and being quite rude. Allow me to apologize and feel free to tell me whatever it is you wish to say. I can sense that there is something on the tip of your tongue that you must be dying to get out.”
“Jeice.”
“Yes, yes, yes. Jeice. Well Jeice I do feel quite bored today and just killing you may not be the best of ideas. I want some excitement. I think I should give you a chance to live. Erebos, Nyx, Menoitios! Back up. We want a fair fight. Let Styx, Perses and Pallas take him on first. If we lose them it’s not loss. They can always be replaced.”
And with that the first three hooded figures backed away while the second three surrounded Jeice in a triangle formation. An eerie red glow formed around the figure behind Jeice, a bluish-green glow around the one to his diagonal right and bright and vibrant yellow to his left. The glowing red figure teleported behind Jeice and threw a hard right towards the Australian’s face. Caught off guard by his sudden movement Jeice had no chance to move and instead attempted to block the punch. A smile creased on the face of the glowing druid as he teleported to Jeice’s side mid-punch and landed a hard cross to the alien’s face. The force of the punch sent Jeice flying in the direction of the blue figure who responded by landing a strong kick to the back of the head of Jeice causing him to drop in his tracks. Lifting one hand the blue druid picked up Jeice with his mind and threw him back towards the red figure.
“What a shame. Two punches and you’re knocked out already? I honestly did assume you were better than this Jeice. You seemed like a strong minded being. I felt you might be the first to challenge me ever. I have never been challenged in my entire existence. It seems I was wrong though. You can’t even beat my weakest of underlings. Finish him off. We have no need to toy with such a weak undeserving being such as him.”
The red druid let out a tiny cackling noise which Jeice could only assume was a laugh before raising his arms above his head forming a ball of pure blackness. Jeice could sense the power in the ball and knew if he was hit by it he may not survive. Doing the only thing he could think of he sent another splitter ball in the direction of the glowing red druid. This time they were all caught off guard however and it landed with a straight shot to his face. The ball of blackness disappeared as the druid went to cover his face from the slight shock he had just received in the form of a tiny ball of ki from the Australian alien. Seizing the moment Jeice grabbed the red druid by the leg and dragon whipping him into the ground. The stunned druid laid there stunned and Jeice knew he needed to act before the glowing being could regain his composure. Jeice sent six ki blasts into the neck of his enemy before focusing all his energy into a kick at the druid’s skull. With a sickening crack the head of the red druid caved in into a bloody mess before he disintegrated into the wind.
Without even ten seconds of reprieve from the fighting, the yellow druid flew at Jeice full speed with a shoulder block to his chest. Once again Jeice went flying off towards the blue druid. The blue figure smiled once again getting ready to pummel the red alien with another kick to his head. This time Jeice was ready for it, however. With barely a moment to spare Jeice flipped himself over the blue figure and unleashed a devastating punch to the neck of his feared opponent. Crumbling to the ground Jeice knew he had snapped the hooded being’s neck, hopefully paralyzing him in place. Looking back towards his yellow opponent Jeice started to walk back to get ready for the last of the three beginning fighters. When he was halfway to his destination the yellow figure swiftly raised his hand sending Jeice into the air by an unseen force. Holding his hand up Jeice was forced to levitate in place while the yellow figure started sending balls of black energy at him mercilessly with his other hand. Feeling his power slowly starting to drain and his consciousness swiftly fading Jeice attempted to block out his surroundings and concentrate his energy into breaking out of the stranglehold he was in. However, the yellow druid seemed to have sense this and closed his hand he held Jeice up with. Jeice felt as if his throat was being crushed in and felt as if his lungs would collapse. Desperate to get out Jeice screamed as loud as possible unleashing a kiai wave. The force was so strong that it pushed the four standing druids, the body of the wilted blue druid, and even their leader Thánatos back fifty feet each. The pressure around his neck stopped and Jeice was able to pump himself up before flying at the yellow druid and throwing another one of his devastating punches towards his bastard foe. With lightning quickness the druid was able to catch the punch with his opposite hand and started squeezing. Jeice’s hand was quickly broken but the druid didn’t stop there. He continued to squeeze even harder as if to completely shatter the Australian’s hand making it completely un-repairable. Focusing all this energy into his right leg Jeice attempted to break free with a kick to the druids head. The druid was caught with the full force of the kick, unaware it had even been heading towards him due to his unrelenting hold on Jeice’s hand. The yellow enemy dropped to the floor. Jeice unleashed a flurry of punches to the chest of the druid until its heart exploded. Jeice collapsed to the ground next to the beastly opponent tired from the fighting. Seconds later the yellow druid disintegrated into the wind like the red one had earlier.
Jeice stared at the spot where his foe had just been. “The red figure crumbled after he was beaten and so did the yellow. But the blue one…” Jeice looked towards where he left the downed and saw the blue druid standing there smiling. "You should have taken me out when you had the chance. By giving me time, I have completely healed myself and am back to 100% fighting strength. You, however, seem to be on your very last legs of life. There is no point in prolonging this anymore. Come at me and let us finish this once and for all."
“No. You think you can finish me? Then YOU come at ME!” Jeice stood his ground and slowly started charging himself up. “You fool! You honestly think you have a chance to beat me? I will smother you. I will slit your jugular and watch bleed and gurgle, choking for your last breath. Then close the wound apply some pressure to delay your death. See what it means is your whole existence don’t mean shit to me. You are better off just…”
“KI EXPLOSION!”
A huge blast of Ki shot out from the body of Jeice, completely wiping out his third foe forever. The blue figure disintegrated into nothingness and Jeice sat down on the ground drained of all his reserve energy. Looking around he realized that the park had turned back into the calm and breezy day he remembered earlier. Standing up he took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. He had done it. He won. Turning around Jeice walked towards the direction he assumed his house was in. An hour into his walk, the house Jeice resides in with Burter and Recoome came into view. Walking up to the door, Jeice reached for the handle before the whole house disappeared. “What the hell?” Jeice said aloud and to himself.
“You thought your nightmare was over young one? I have news for you idiot. You still never beat us four. And you won’t have the chance. Erebos, Nyx, Menoitios, go get him! Bring him to me. And don’t be stupid and attack him one at a time. He’s had an hour to recuperate and he is probably restored to one-hundred percent fighting." The three remaining hooded figures Jeice remembered from earlier converged on him at one time and beat him with a flurry of punches and kicks. Jeice even thought he felt a few head butts and knees thrown into his beating. After a good three minutes of suffering one of the figures picks Jeice up and brings him over to their leader. On the verge of death Jeice looks up to see Thánatos floating above him with a huge ball of blackness.
“I call this my death ball because once you are hit with it…. Well you die. I don’t know why else I would call it that so this shouldn’t really be a shock to you. Anyway it’s time for you to die, Jeice.”
Thánatos threw his hand down and suddenly everything went black.
“Am I dead? What a terrible way to die” thought Jeice. “And yet, I proved myself to be one who never backs down in the end. I fought an unwinnable battle and almost prevailed. Burter and Recoome would be pleased.”
“YOU STUPID FUCKIN NOOB! Are you kidding me? Really you’re going to use grenade launchers AND martyrdom? You, sir, are the captain of douche bags. Fuck you buddy!”
Jeice’s ears perked up. “Was that Recoome” thought Jeice “or am I hearing shit again?” Wait how could it be Recoome if I am dead. Unless..?” Jeice reached up and felt something on his head. Ripping it off he noticed he had been in the training machine the whole time.
“Recoome? What happened to the machine? Why did it suddenly shut off on me?”
“Huh? Oh that. Yeah this stupid noob has been playing like a pansy at Call of Duty all day and I got pissed so I threw the controller threw it. It’s probably broken now. You might want to get that looked at.”
Jeice snarled. The red-haired bastard always did stuff like this to him. He was about ready to attack his fellow fighter when he realized it didn’t matter. He felt so much stronger anyway. All the time he had spent in the training device had worked. Mentally and physically he felt much, much stronger than he had before the day started. Smiling Jeice silently chuckled to himself. He was on his way to being the best fighter in the universe, and no one, or thing, could stop him.
