There were only a few days left until Bulma would meet Master Korin for training. Turtle was going to be out of town for a while and the other masters did not believe she was ready to be training by Yajarobi. So until she could build up the skill needed to train under him, Korin offered to train her. Naturally, Bulma wanted to made a good impression so she found a secluded spot to train in hopes of becoming even better before she met this mysterious master of martial art.
It was very rocky here but the trees seemed to grow anywhere. The moss seemed to take over the rock as ants would a sugary treat dropped on their hill. This was a good spot for training. It was quiet, secluded, and plenty of stationary targets.
Bulma eyed the rocks as if they were enemies ready to pounce on her at any moment. She glared at the largest rock in the group of harmless villains and decided to save it for last. Turning to another she let fly a kick. For a moment it looked as if nothing happened. All that training and she couldn’t even break a rock! But what was this, the rock was cracking. Bulma watched as the crack spread and the rock crumbled.
The young genius jumped up in celebration and then punched another rock. This too was a delayed reaction. She would have to get more power behind her punches and kicks. Perhaps Korin knew a trick or two for that. She would have to ask him when she had the chance.
After wasting a few more stone faced enemies Bulma turned to the last one and frowned. This one was larger than the others no matter how you looked at it. This would take more power than a punch or a kick. She knew just the attack to use.
Bulma backed away from the target, not wanting to get rock dust on her when she destroyed it. Focusing her energy into one hand, she and the rock stared each other down. They both knew how this would end.
Once she had enough energy, Bulma let loose a ki blast on the rock. It instantly was blasted to fragments of its former self. Pleased with her progress, Bulma began her daily workout routine. Sit-ups until her abs ached, pushups until her arms were sore, and running until she couldn’t take another step.
Soon the young woman was exhausted from the workout. She thought for a moment of wearing weights to increase her strength and overall power but shuddered at the thought of becoming one of those bodybuilder women that were always on television competing in one strange contest or another. That was not the life for her.
Bulma was happy with being small and adorable. However, she wasn’t happy with being weak. She wanted to have a hidden strength that no one could see until she acted. A sort of secret weapon. Right now, she was stronger than any normal man or woman she knew but that wasn’t quite good enough. She had to be stronger than the no so normal ones. The ones she had met on the street and been challenged by. The strange man that dressed nice and hid his face for one.
Bulma sighed and sat down for a rest under a fruit tree. This was going to take longer than she expected. She thought that a few weeks of training would prepare her for anything but after meeting some of the people she had met it would take much longer than that. Was she ready to make such a commitment?
For a moment Bulma thought about it as she looked into the cloud pocked blue sky, a slight fall breeze blowing her hair. Yes, this was the path she choose and she would see it to the end. Now that she was strong she would have to become hero strong. The people of Earth might one day need someone to save them and she would be right here waiting when they did. Well, maybe not right here, maybe at home or training with one of the masters.
Anyway, her point to herself was that she would defend the Earth when the time came. Bulma knew she wasn’t supposed to believe in what she couldn’t see, being a scientist, but she was seeing more and more odd people who did not fit the typical look of an Earth species so she assumed they were from another planet. Naturally some of these people would be good honest beings here to peaceful live on the same planet as humanity and animal kind but others would be foul evil creatures bent on destroying or ruling the world. Bulma wasn’t exactly one to get mixed up in politics but she felt the world was being run just fine.
One thing was for sure, she would never use her power to take over anything. Running anything was too much hassle, even the ever growing Capsule Corp. One day she knew it would be passed on to her to run as best as she could. Naturally, Bulma had a business plan and would be able to pull it off with no problem but that’s not what she wanted. She wanted a family and she wanted to be able to protect them. Thoughts like these made Bulma sigh longingly.
If she were to ever have a family she would need a boyfriend first, and then marry him. Who could she possibly find that would like her for her and not her family’s slowly amassing fortune? Perhaps if she could find the mythical dragon balls she would be able to wish for such a guy. Certainly the eternal dragon could find her someone that was her type.
For a moment Bulma toyed with the idea of what other wishes she would make if she could. Well, she wouldn’t want more money, that would be a waste. She wouldn’t want to rule over anything, that was already known. She wouldn’t want to live forever, she would look like an ugly prune the older she got and she would have to watch everyone around her die, that would be no fun. She couldn’t think of anything else she would wish for. Just as well, the sun was starting to set and she had to get home.
